Every university and institute is at some point faced with the challenge of retrospective digitization of their old print doctoral theses and dissertations. Furthermore, providing an experience to the users for searching and accessing the digitized theses and dissertations is paramount to every library. This session will provide you with all the information you seek to address your retrospective digitization requirements and learn new trends in the domain of digitization &archival of theses & dissertations. The 3.5 hour workshop will focus on a wide array of topics such as copyright issues, plagiarism, decisions to be taken for a digitization project, how to make the content accessible to users, ETD repositories around the world, etc. It will also include case studies presented by University Librarians who will share their experiences on retrospective digitization projects.
